What inspired you to become a personal trainer?

I saw a movie when I was 16 called pain and gain and It was about working out and I was blown away on things the human body can achieve so it’s started at a hobby and grew into a passion of me helping others achieve their body goals.

What is your fitness philosophy or training approach?

Hypertrophy, not just for muscle growth benefits but also by pushing blood through the body and revving your system up to utilize the food you have eaten. Even for someone who just wants to lose weight or tone it is by far my favorite approach. It also burns WAY more calories than running on a treadmill.

What is your favorite type of workout or exercise?

I personally enjoy the bodybuilding aspect. I like to do moderate weight with higher reps. I enjoy the burn you get inside your muscles. It’s a love hate relationship.

What do you enjoy most about working with clients?

I love to see all the different walks of life and goals of everyone because not one person is the same whether it’s goals or body shape and size so to me I am very intrigued by that.

How do you motivate clients to reach their fitness goals?

I always want to start off by getting to know them. Everyone has their own coping ways and practices of finding motivation… once I find out who they are as a person I use that to my advantage to drive them more and fuel their motivation.

What's one piece of advice you always give to your clients?

Always remember where you started and on the days you don’t want to workout are the most important days to go. It will always pay off.

What sets your training style apart from others?

I pull every resource and knowledge I have and turn it into my own version when it comes to creating workouts for people. And also I must mention being humorous I love to heckle and joke when the time calls for it.

How do you continue to expand your knowledge in the fitness industry?

I am usually always watching workout videos or clips and I absorb it like a sponge because I love it so much. From there I’ll usually add my on twist on things too and try things out on myself to see how it feels.

Share a fun fact about yourself outside of the fitness world.

I am a big marvel/dc nerd.

If you were a superhero, what would your fitness-focused superpower be?

Unlimited muscle building. Because I love muscle haha!

What's your go-to guilty pleasure treat, and how do you balance it with a healthy lifestyle?

Homemade cinnamon rolls. I find eating clean 80% of the time works very well for me. It also helps me keep my sanity and something to look forward to when it’s cheat meal time.

What do you love most about being part of Advanced Health Training and its community?

We are more than just company and more than a chain of gyms. We aren’t just a community but a family. I have seen many examples of our clients being there for one another when they need it, including myself. That is something a big chain or corporation will never give you. I would give the world to stay in my exact place for that matter.
